The Dean of Students coordinates and administers proactive
solutions for scholars. Responsible for dealing with scholars’
problems in cooperation with the Principal, Counselors and
representatives of outside agencies. Maintains and periodically
reviews scholars’ discipline records. Fosters an environment
conducive to learning. Communicates effectively with educational
communities, parents, and supplemental agencies as necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Creates a collaborative and supportive work environment and

Meets annual student retention goal while holding scholars to
high expectations.

Conducts climate and culture observations and feedback
sessions for teachers

Creates trusting and respectful relationships with families
by communicating respectfully

Creates and implements a comprehensive PBIS program that
supports MTSS and evaluates its effectiveness and makes
changes in conjunction with the school leader.

Promotes, supports, and organizes parenting groups. Works
collaboratively with the P.T.A.

Meets with parents of scholars with special needs to develop
plans for educational support.

Serves as building level attendance o?cer, maintains and
reviews scholar attendance records.

Develops and maintains school discipline plan.

Ensures a safe and orderly environment by setting up
expectations and protocol procedures.

Manages scholar supervision concerns and enforces school
behavioral expectations. Counsels scholars and parents about
school policies.

Assists sta? and parents in developing scholar behavioral expectations.

Assists in the planning, developing and implementing of
individual scholar behavior plans. Serves as a resource to
sta? in dealing with classroom management issues.

Assists in developing programs to promote positive scholar
behavior as well as intervention strategies.
